John Fuquay
CEO
John Fuquay is the Chief Executive Officer of Fuquay, Inc., a 35-year-old Texas-based family business with offices in New Braunfels, Austin and Dallas. John has a Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Texas at Austin and spent his free time during school playing defensive back for the Longhorn Football team. After graduation, John dedicated his efforts to growing a business based on responsible service, quality products, and highly trained professional crews. This simple business concept has proven successful over time as Fuquay has grown into a full-service construction company that specializes in underground utility construction, stormwater pollution prevention, and underground assessment and rehabilitation. Under John’s direction, Fuquay has become one of the state’s largest manhole rehabilitation and trenchless technology contracting firms with well over 200 employees. It serves a broad spectrum of infrastructure markets including municipalities, public utilities, the Texas Department of Transportation, petrochemical, manufacturing, and the private market. Fuquay is the only certified installer of AlphaLiner in the State of Texas, a UV-CIPP Technology manufactured by Reline America. Additionally, Fuquay is the largest applicator of Sprayroq, spray-applied polyurethane lining products, in the world with well over 5 million square feet installed. John and his wife Kaye, live in New Braunfels, TX, and have 3 children and 6 grandchildren who are their pride and joy.
David Kallfelz
President
David graduated with honors from Southwest Texas State’s School of Business with a BBA Degree in Finance in 1994. After completing college, he immediately started work in the heavy civil construction industry and continued to do so from 1995 to 2010. Here David gained his experience in project management, estimating, equipment management, utility construction, and overall company management. David held the positions of job cost analyst, estimator, project manager, and Vice-President before starting with Fuquay in July 2010. David is the President of Fuquay and oversees all corporate operations. His knowledge and expertise in business management and the heavy construction industry including utilities, excavation, rehabilitation, paving, and environmental work help him manage the diversified nature of the Fuquay organization. Through his commitment to excellence and dedication to professionalism, David Kallfelz and Fuquay have continued to exceed industry standards by forming strong professional partnerships based on integrity, ingenuity, and reliability.
Dauphen Jackson
CFO
Dauphen Jackson is a seasoned professional with over 31 years of experience in the construction industry, out of which he has dedicated almost 13 years to contributing significantly to the success of Fuquay, Inc. His career began in Public Accounting, where he excelled for more than 12 years before being handpicked by John to join Fuquay, Inc. as the CFO. Not only is he a proficient finance executive, but he is also an active member of the AGC (Associated General Contractors). Outside of work, Dauphen’s passions for hunting and fishing. Additionally, he embraces the challenges and rewards of Cattle Ranching, working alongside his sons and imparting them with invaluable labor-intensive skills. Mr. Jackson’s exceptional contributions and leadership have not gone unnoticed, earning him esteemed recognition such as the New Braunfels Chamber Leadership award and the prestigious role of President at Rodeo Austin for the years 2023 and 2024. His academic qualifications are also impressive, with degrees in Bachelor of Science in Construction from Southwest Texas State University and Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. With an unwavering commitment to excellence, a passion for his hobbies, and a profound dedication to both his profession and family, Dauphen continues to make a lasting impact in the construction industry and beyond.
JD Fuquay
Business Development
JD Fuquay is a partner at AK Fuquay Construction and the Chief Business Development Officer at Fuquay, Inc. JD oversees all contracts for AK Fuquay and is the general manager of day-to-day company operations. His passion for the construction industry began at an early age, as he grew up admiring the dedication of his grandmother and father to serve the erosion control needs of central Texas. JD worked for the family business during the summer months of high school and college, and after earning his Political Science degree from Texas A&M University in 2014, he moved back to New Braunfels to begin his career at Fuquay. Since then, he has dedicated his efforts to working with state legislators to expand opportunities for WBE/DBE companies and developing technologies to advance the construction industry. Within his role as Chief Business Development Officer, JD has worked to educate engineers and state agencies about the advances in trenchless technology and the management of underground assets. He also manages Fuquay’s contractor relations, which has been the backbone of the company’s service-oriented mentality for decades. He serves as a board member for the AGC Central Texas Future Leadership Council and is a member of the Greater Austin Contractors and Engineers Association. Locally, JD is a member of the New Braunfels Executive Association, San Antonio Livestock Exposition Auction Committee, and is a graduate of the Chamber of Commerce Leadership New Braunfels Class of 2015. JD lives in New Braunfels with his wife, Arica, and has four children, Penelope, Molly, and twin sons Louie and Archie.
Danny Oldani
Business Development
Daniel Oldani brings a decade of experience to the construction industry, with 8 years at Fuquay. Over his career, he has managed significant projects such as the 42” CIPP at Battle Ground Golf Course, the 24” CIPP on Scenic Dr. in El Paso, and the gas line relocation for the 281 N Expansion. Daniel earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from Texas A&M University Class of ‘14 and is actively involved in various professional organizations, including AGC, ABC, ACEA, NUCA, and UCTA. His leadership and contributions to the industry were recognized when he was named to the Leadership New Braunfels Class of 2021 and honored as a New Braunfels Rising Star Under 40 in the same year. A resident of New Braunfels, TX, Daniel is dedicated to his community, volunteering at Springs Community Church. He enjoys spending quality time with his family, which includes his twin boys, Beckett and Benson, as well as his triplets, Bayler, Boston, and Kole. Outside of work and family life, Daniel is passionate about golf and enjoys playing whenever he can.
Colton Kotylo
Business Development
Colton Kotylo has been an integral part of the construction industry for the past 4 years, with all of his time spent at Fuquay. He is actively involved in the industry through his membership in the AGC FLC. Colton holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Arkansas. Originally from New Braunfels, TX, Colton lives in Dallas with his wife, Caroline, and their dog, Duke. Outside of work, Colton enjoys a range of activities including golf, hunting, and fitness, reflecting his active and balanced lifestyle.
John Trevilion

With 34 years of dedicated experience in the construction industry, John Trevilion has established a remarkable career characterized by a deep commitment to excellence and innovation. Currently serving as a key member of Fuquay for over 11 years, John has played an instrumental role in delivering successful projects for the utilities division at Fuquay. John holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction from Texas A&M University, which has provided a solid foundation for a career marked by both practical expertise and academic knowledge. His leadership skills and contributions to the industry have been recognized through involvement with the New Braunfels Chamber Leadership program. Residing in New Braunfels, TX, John enjoys a balanced life with his family, including his wife Heather and their two sons, John Thomas (20) and States (18). Outside of work, he pursues his passion for hunting and fishing, embracing the outdoor lifestyle he cherishes. John continues to leverage his extensive experience to drive success in every project, contributing to Fuquay's reputation for excellence and innovation in the utility construction sector.
Trino Lopez
Structural Rehabilitation
Trino Lopez has been an integral part of Fuquay for the past 22 years, contributing his expertise and dedication to numerous projects. Among his many accomplishments, the Sherman Water Tanks project stands out as a career highlight, though Trino holds all of his work in high regard. Certified in a range of specialized areas including 30-hour and 10-hour OSHA certifications, SprayWall application, Strong Seal application, traffic control, and gas detector repair, Trino brings a versatile skill set to every job. His extensive knowledge and commitment to safety and quality make him an invaluable asset to the team. Originally from Caldwell, Idaho, Trino now resides in Cibolo, Texas, with his wife. He is a proud father of five children, a step-daughter and a grandson. Outside of work, Trino enjoys hiking, bike riding, fishing, camping, road trips, and playing frisbee golf. His faith and family are the cornerstones of his life, and he relishes the moments spent in their company.
Lance Wheeler
Structural Rehabilitation
With 18 years of experience in the construction industry, Lance Wheeler has been a key team member at Fuquay for the past 14 years. He has played a pivotal role in managing the structural lining and coatings division at Fuquay. His favorite project was the TCEQ Inspection (smoke testing), which is one of his most notable achievements. Lance holds a degree in Construction Science, with a minor in Business, from Texas A&M University, class of 2003. Originally from San Marcos, Texas, he now resides in San Antonio, Texas. Outside of work, Lance enjoys golfing, fly-fishing, and traveling to mountains and beaches. He also stays active and follows college sports. He is the proud father of a 16-year-old son.
Artie Hughes
Utilities
Artie Hughes brings over 40 years of experience in the construction industry to his role at Fuquay, where he has spent more than a decade specializing in the installation of dry and wet utilities. He has played an integral role in managing and ensuring the success of Fuquay's utilities division, contributing to the success of major projects such as the 281 project and Esperanza. Artie is an active member of the National Utility Contractors Association (NUCA) and the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of Texas, reflecting his commitment to staying connected and informed within the industry. Raised in Austin, Artie worked with his family installing underground utilities, a foundation that has shaped his extensive career. He now resides in Wimberley with his wife, Mo, where he enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors, particularly watching the deer that frequent his backyard.
Joe Desarden
Structural Rehabilitation
Joe Desarden brings 15 years of experience in the sewer and water industry, with a specialized focus on sewer rehabilitation over the past six years. As an estimator at Fuquay Inc. since 2023, Joe leverages his expertise to ensure the delivery of high-quality projects and solutions. Joe holds a high school diploma and is a Certified Water Operator with a Class D license, underscoring his commitment to excellence in his field. His professional journey is further distinguished by his four years of service with the United States Army's 2nd Ranger Battalion, where he developed strong values of discipline, leadership, and teamwork. Originally from Chicago, Illinois, and having raised his children in Kenosha, Wisconsin, Joe now resides in New Braunfels, Texas. He has been happily married to Sara for 22 years, and they are the proud parents of four children and four grandchildren. Joe is dedicated to making a positive impact in the sewer and water industry and looks forward to contributing to the community and future generations through his work.
Blair Lule
Structural Rehabilitation
With 30 years of experience in the construction industry, Blair Lule has been a vital part of Fuquay for the past 18 years. Throughout his tenure, Blair has personally managed and installed every UV-GRP liner at Fuquay, showcasing his expertise and commitment to excellence. Blair graduated from college and moved to the United States in 1991, bringing with him a wealth of knowledge and experience from Europe. He now resides in the U.S. with his wife and daughter. Outside of work, Blair is passionate about hunting and fishing, activities that reflect his love for the outdoors.
Garett Sheperd
Structural Rehabilitation
Garrett Shepperd has 12 years of experience in the construction industry, all with Fuquay. Notable projects he has managed include the University of Texas South Endzone Renovation, Boot Ranch Spine Road, and The Colorfield, among others. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Texas State University (Class of 2013) and has been an active member of the Austin Contractors and Engineers Association, serving on the Board of Directors since 2019. Garrett has held several leadership roles, including President for 2023-2024, President-Elect for 2022-2023, and Treasurer for 2021-2022, and has co-chaired the Golf Committee since 2019. A Georgetown native who has recently returned to his hometown, Garrett was a pitcher for the Texas State Bobcats and contributed to the Southland Conference Championships in 2010 and 2011. He is married to his wife Megan and they share their home with their Labrador, Layla. In his free time, Garrett enjoys fishing, hunting, golfing, and spending quality time with family and friends.
